What professional development requirements does a school in Massachusetts need to meet?

All public school districts and commonwealth charter schools are required to provide at least 2 hours of suicide awareness and prevention training every 3 years to all licensed school personnel.

Each school district shall file a description of the following instructional procedures and programs:

Schools must implement, for all school staff, professional development that includes developmentally appropriate strategies for bullying prevention and intervention, research findings on bullying, and information on cyberbullying and internet safety.

Trauma-informed training is strongly encouraged in MA schools.
