School PD Requirements in Pennsylvania

According to ARTICLE XIII-B, school entities shall provide their employees with mandatory training on school safety and security. 

Training may be provided online. Employees shall complete a minimum of three hours of training every five years. This training includes:

A school entity must provide professional development related to child exploitation awareness to those educators assigned to teach courses into which child exploitation awareness education has been incorporated. 

According to the Pennsylvania Equity and Inclusion Toolkit, cultural competency training and development is critical to ensuring staff are equipped with knowledge and skills on relevant topics specific to equity, diversity, and fostering a supportive school culture.
